Well, this here is my replacement entry for ~Kreaturez's Contest.

Don't you just hate that? I had just finished the Garassu when I got an even better idea for a kreature. It's got a more interesting design, a more interesting power, a stronger connection to existing kreatures and a much better name.

Of course, I suspect this pattern will repeat itself and by the time the contest is over my galleries will be full of half-forgotten kreatures and I won't have any idea which one to submit for the final choice.

Incidentally, the name is from the Roche limit, which is the point where objects in orbit of a planet will just be ripped apart.

Roche have two main abilities. One is their voluntary psychokinesis, which allows them to hover slightly above the ground. The second ability is involuntary psychokinesis, which has a more complex effect. When something comes within a certain radius of the Roche, it will be dragged into orbit of the Roche. There it orbits, slowly being pulverised by the other objects in orbit. Though the psychokinesis is involuntary, Roche can control the speed and ferocity of the orbit, ranging from a light breeze to a deadly tornado around the Roche.

Despite their fearsome appearance, Roche are omnivores and prefer to eat plants, allowing them to be tenderized by a trip in their orbit. Since it is involuntary, Roche feeding can be a comical sight, with them trying to grab the food as it goes flying by. Roche powers cancel each other out, so male Roche have to impress mates with their tusks instead of their powers.
