Well, here's my entry for ~KaijuSamurai's contest. The basis was to make an Ultraman monster that could be made with a man in a costume. So, logically, the way to do that would be with a monster that started off a human. Of course, that was just the first thing the pop into my mind, and then the only thing to pop into my mind. Ah well, works for me.

Incidentally, the two stages aren't to scale (in case you couldn't tell); Stage 1 is normal sized, Stage 2 is giant sized and the little black one is how the costume works.

Ydroc
The Ydroc is a type of parasitic alien fungus. It produces spores which infect suitable hosts. The Ydroc spore travels to the brain and takes control, giving it an insatiable hunger and disinterest in all other matters. The host's body also starts to mutate, growing in size and forming spines and teeth under the skin. It develops a mouth on the hand and torso to help it eat more food. Once the Ydroc has reached maximum size (sometimes up to 150 feet, depending on circumstances), the inside is cannibalised to produce spores and the Ydroc explodes, spreading the spores and starting the cycle again.

A group of Ydroc spores were accidentally caught in the machinery of an alien robot. When it attacked Earth, the spores were able to leave and find a host. There, it found Generic Japanese Businessman (whatever the equivalent to John Smith is in Japanese or something) and infected him. This new Ydroc believed that its greatest threat and food sources was Ultraman himself.

_{To tell the truth, I'm not sure how this would be made. Optimally, the Ydroc costume would be added on bit by bit and the growth would be shown along the way with blue screen and scale models of various sizes. I'm not sure how old we're assuming the show is, so I suspect this theoretical Ultraman wouldn't have the budget for that. I guess they'd probably just have the Stage 1 find a food warehouse and then immediately grow into Stage 2.}
